MTV Networks selected Matassa Construction to provide construction management services for interior renovations of its existing broadcast facility. The scope of work included 10,000sf of demolition of existing space replaced by technical spaces, including an Encoder Room for Nickelodeon, broadcast control room, studio, VH1 edit suites and a tape library.

The new technical spaces required 24/7 supplemental air conditioning, UPS power with generator back-up. Careful attention to detail was required for all the the new facilities.  The tape library features mobile shelving units for maximum storage capacity. Modifications were required to the cabling, HVAC system controls, fire suppression systems and security equipment.
